AGARTALA, Sep 11 (TIWN): Like every year Tripura Police have prescribed certain rules for Puja Committee Presidents and Secretaries on donation collection for the upcoming Durga Puja

Such rules are imposed every year, but hardly people can know about these rules and thus money extortion continues by various local clubs.

SP West Ajit Pratap Singh held a meeting with various Durga-puja organizers on Tuesday and told them about the code of conducts.

People who are forced against the laws by any club member of the locality should inform police immediately without fear.

The important points for the readers are :

1) In each donation-receipt book, there should be serial numbers given on the pages, name of the press / printers must be mentioned in the receipt books,

2) The collecting amount should be written in numbers and words both. (Violation of this instruction will lead legal action to the puja committee President and Secretary)

3) From any Govt / private office donations can't be asked including schools, hostels and govt quarters,

4) From any market or business centre all collections must be completed from 10 am to 1 pm (Only two people are allowed to go for chanda collections),

5) At houses, from morning 7 am to morning 9 am and afternoon 5 pm to 6 pm donations can be collected. In absence of house owner, chanda must not be asked.

6) All receipt copies should have President or Secretary's signatures,

7) No donation collection from vehicles,

8) Any complaint about donation collection will be treated strictly by police and law.

(Same rules must be followed across Tripura)
