AGARTALA, Sep 11 (TIWN): Assam Rifles conducted workshop on "Beti Bachao Beti Padao" in conjunction with Nehru Yuva Kendra and Mahila Morcha at Sabroom on Tuesday.

A drama was performed by Nehru Yuva Kendra to enlighten the gathering on Preventing gender bias and ensuring survival, protection and promoting education of girl child.

The workshop also included a talk by Mr Biplap Das, SDM, Mrs Shobhita Bhowmik, President Mahila Morcha and Mr Debaloy Bhowmik, President Nehru Yuva Kendra, to promote women empowerment and increase awareness regarding various beneficiary govt schemes. This was followed by an awarness rally from Town Hall to Sabroom Market.

A total of 586 people attended the informative workshop who appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for supporting social cause
