AGARTALA, September 18 (TIWN): Puja Pandals are busy round the clock to complete decoration, finishing touches. To create a magnificent experience for Durga Puja pandal hoppers of the state this year Sanghati Club at Sankar Chowmuhani will depict a kalpanic mandir decorated with glass.
Speaking to TIWN secretary of sanghati club Dipak Majumder said that the pandal will be prepared with thermocol designed with glass. This year the total budget for Durga Puja is Rs 20lakh, he added. However we have decided to shape the Durga idol with clay, he mentioned.
The club will also distribute new clothes to 500 children’s, he added. Our special attraction is special effects lighting for which we are spending a huge amount this year which is much higher than previous years, he added. Durga Puja which is also known as Navaratri commences on the first and ends on the tenth day of the bright half of Ashina (September to October).
The stage is all set for the grand Durga Puja celebrations in the city as various clubs toil towards bringing in the flavor and festivities of from the land of the goddess. Celebrating good over evil, the puja rituals and cultural performances that form a major part of the celebrations attract large number of devotees every year over five days from Panchami to Vijaya Dashami.
