AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): Education Dept has conducted a review meeting to examine the exam results of Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE).
TBSE result held in the post election session was not at all satisfactory. However, such review meetings are held ever year following the exam results. School Principals, Education Dept officials stayed present in the meeting where each school's performances are being checked.
This year Tripura Govt has constituted a committee to probe the result-fall in TBSE Madhyamik.
The committee is headed by 7 members and the Chairman of the committee is Dr Arunodoy Saha, Ex-Vice Chancellor of Tripura University.
The other members of the committee are : 1) Ranjit Kr Debnath (Ex-Director of School Education), 2) Manik Deb (Ex-Professor MBB College), 3) Kandarpa Debbarma (HM behala Bari HS School), 4) Sujit Chakraborty (OSD, SCERT), 5) Lipika Chakraborty (HM Debipur), 6) D Debbarma (Joint Director, Elementary Education Dept).
Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) Exams which went through crucial Assembly election doldrums, shouting, miking, violence and tensions has resulted with 59.59 % passing rate, a sharp dropping from previous year’s 67.38 % passing rate.
On June 13, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath before chairing in SCERT said, “It has to be spotted whether there was any "quality" in the state Education system in the previous year or not. I can’t do anything in 3 months but the reason behind the fall need to be spotted”.
