AGARTALA, Aug 27 (TIWN): Tripura’s grassroot economy under severe torture as luxary loving CM & his multiple OSDs, Advisors, Ministers are focused on personal comfort, Yagna, Pujas, All across India travels at Taxpayers money rather than getting funds for Tripura from Central Govt to serve people. “We are not dejected at the defeat of CPIM party led by Manik Sarkar in election . But we, the poor people are finding it hard to manage even twice meals a day due to the lack of money,"such are the responses TIWN investigating team is getting from different parts of the state after 5 months of the swearing in ceremony of the BJP-IPFT govt. in Tripura . Indeed, the lucrative pre-poll promises of BJP seem to have been ridiculing the entire team led by its stylish CM Biplab Deb . Since 9th March only 5/6 days MGNREGA works were made possible and in many cases the poor workers are learnt not to have got their wages till date .

Completely oblivious of the miseries of the common people of the state BJP's Bollywood stars-lookalike leaders are busy in attending yagnas, felicitation programmes, birth day parties of their rich friends' relatives and even to organize Satyanarayan Pujas.

In Gomati District, TIWN team got the surprising information that at present the money flow in the market has suddenly stopped , there by collapsing the economy . In villages shutters of the shops remain closed soon after sunset . TIWN's investigating team has recently visited different parts of the state, mostly in rural and remote parts of the state and the only question our team has been putting forward is ,"Are you happy with this current BJP govt. in Tripura?" The responses that our team is getting are as follows :

1) The poor people have been practically leading lives of acute hardships

2) Lack of cash in the hands of the poor leads to rare visits of customers in shops

3) The women are forced to go join construction works as assistants of masons simply to survive

4) The MGNREGA workers are finding it hard to live as only 5/6 days of works were arranged for them so far .

Speaking to TIWN a Tayeb Miah of Kakraban, Gomati District said," At this time of the year we were supposed to get atleast 30/40 days of MGNREGA works but this year since January we got only 6 days of works . This is tough for families like us . We are helpless and are facing severe crisis to arrange twice meals for our children . "

Readymade garments' shop owners at Amarpur,Sonamura,Dharmanagar, Kailasahar,Khowai,Sabroom,Udaipur told TIWN team in the same voice ,"Since 1998 this year we have the worst business season in Bakrid Eid as only a very few customers came to our shops . "

Surprisingly , this BJP-IPFT govt seems to be unaware of this situation. CM Biplab Deb , his colleagues in the cabinet and BJP MLAs are still going through honeymoon period . Almost every day the ministers are MLAs are seen to visit various social programmes adorned themsleves in colourful dresses and at every occasion they are feeling satisfied in giving pose for photo session and selfies- a new trend of Tripura BJP leaders, especially MLAs and ministers .

A highly placed Senior BJP leader told TIWN," Encouraged by our Prabhari Sunil Deodhar ji we used to ridicule Manik Sarkar as helicoptor CM and people too believed in our words . Unfortunately , our CM Biplab Deb too is more keen to enjoy helicopter ride than to travel on road . Even he often visits Udaipur(only within 40 minutes away from Agartala in VIP cars) in helicoptor. And we are to face some harsh questions from our supporters and Karyakartas due to the aristocratic life style of a small section of BJP leaders. "

It is really shameless that the party, which gave plenty of lofty promises to the voters ahead of election and yet to fulfill only one such promises, is still giving such promises, which the experts say  not only hard to materialize but next to impossible .
