AGARTALA, Aug 25 (TIWN): Tripura's new Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki has carried his vision of 'New India' and hoping cooperation from State Tripura's all people. "One India and New India is the dream of Govt of India. With this dream I have come here under the order of the Govt. I hope people of Tripura will help the Govt to fulfill the Vision", Solanki told media here after arriving in Agartala. At 3 pm the Solanki has taken oath as the Governor of Tripura, whereas the Ex-Governor Tathagata Roy has taken oath as Meghalaya Governor. Tripura High Court Chief Justice Ajay Rastogi has administered the oath to the new Governor. At Raj Bhawan, Chief Secretary Sanjeev Ranjan, Police High Officials, Tripura CM Biplab Deb, Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma and other Ministers and officials were present during the oath taking ceremony of the new Governor.
On the other side during departure, Tripura Ex-Governor Tathagata Roy said that the previous Govt and the present Govt (regardless political identity) both were active and that's why as the Governor he never had to jump in 'emergency' action. He added that Tripura never had undergone so much critical situation where a Governor had to play the main role.
About the New Governor : Kaptan Singh Solanki is now the Governor of Tripura and an Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He studied at Vikram University Ujjain, P.G.B.T. College, Ujjain and Maharani Luxmibai College, Jiwaji University Gwalior. He served as teacher during 1958–1965 period and as Professor at P.G.V. College Gwalior from 1966–2000.
He was earlier appointed the Governor of Haryana to replace. Kaptan Singh Solanki has been married to Shrimati Rani Solanki since 1959, and has two daughters and three sons with her.
