Sabroom / Srinagar, September 16 (TIWN): Though there is a huge enthusiasm of whole Srinagar area under South Tripura as the first border 'haat' (market) will be functional at Indo-Bangla boundary at Srinagar in South Tripura - scheduled to be inaugurated in the third week of October to boost bilateral trade, Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) officials said.
But ongoing By election works under Sabroom Sub Divison and upcoming Durga Puja vacation may delay the ongoing progress of First Border Haat work. After election work, most of the officials may take leave for upcoming Durga Puja.
Though all round preparations are in progress. Identity cards of vendors are already prepared according to applications.
"This decision was taken in the meeting of the Chairpersons of the Border Haat management committees of South Tripura district and Feni District of neighboring Bangladesh held in the Chhagalnaiya sub-division of Feni district on Thursday last," Senior Manager of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC), Shyamal Deb said.
