AGARTALA, September 16 (TIWN): More secrets have been unearthed while investigating the biggest ever scam of Education Department in Tripura. Accused cashier Arnab Chakraborty successfully used fake marksheet of Madhyamik Examination for getting the Government Job. It is to be mentioned here that after the death of Arnab’s father he got the job through die-in-harness consideration, apart from the backing of a Minister. But in order to acquire this job, a Madhyamik Certificate was an absolute necessity. Arnab had no such certificate. In the meantime, he came in contact with another fraudster Rajiv Dasgupta. With the help of Rajiv, he arranged a false marksheet as well as a computer operator certificate. It also came under notice that with the help of his relative he also got the certificate by local MLA. However, Arnab Chakraborty did not have minimum qualification for the aforesaid post.

In every step, Rajiv Dasgupta extended his helping hands towards Arnab.

After being appointed in his job, having contacts with mafias became his everyday business. Alongwith his accomplices, he started land mafia activities from Education Dept office. He had bought seven lands namely in GB, Bholagiri and Chandrapur area with the help of his antisocial friends. Rajiv Dasgupta and another antisocial Nantu were associated with him in every step. However Police are not still able to trace Rajib and Arnab’s family members.

Other than that Police also got information that Arnab might have some foreign accounts also.  The news of accounts of Arnab’s wife, mother and mother-in-laws needs a special mention. Despite of all these information, Government is still acting as a silent spectator, in this regard.  

Meanwhile, Arnab was placed before the Court yesterday and he was sent to seven days police remand. Police are trying to find out others connected with the case. Besides,  recovery of embezzled amount, relevant information from Arnab’s Samsung mobile, name of Bank accounts in Kolkata will unfold further issues and informations.

Earlier Joint Director of School Education and Additional State Mission Director (ASMD) of Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksa Abhiyan (RMSA), Manabendra Chakraborty lodged an FIR (File no-F.18(2)-DSE/CELL/2013) against cashier Arnab Chakraborty where he was accused of making forgery of the signs of ASMD to withdraw money. He is also charged for issuing an appropriation letter demanding authority of receiving all the cheques and payments of RMSA. The authority of Tripura State Co-operative Bank could guesstimate the wrongdoings and accordingly they contacted the Director of RMSA. In order to show the proof, the bank officials produced copy of bearer cheque in the name of Arnab Chakraborty (bearing No.01756) against which Rs 11 lakhs 72 thousand was drawn by him on last September 3.
