Kamalpur, Sept 14 (TIWN): To commemorate the adoption of Hindi as the National language on September 14, 1949, “Rashtra Bhasha Diwas†was observed today at Harer Khola High School, Kamalpur.
With the initiative of Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Tripura, Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Khana Das inaugurated the Rashtra Bhasha Diwas by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Inspector of Schools Rabindra Debbarma, State President of Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti Haripada Deb, member Bhagwat Prasad, Dipali Datta, Dipak Roy and Tamal Chowdhury along with others remained present there in the programme.
Students from different schools performed song, dance and recitation in Hindi. Addressing the programme, Khana Das and Haripada Deb focused on the significance of Rashtra Bhasha Diwas. They emphasized the importance of Hindi language and said the students should be proud of the National language and should be enriched by adopting good words from the language. Underlying the importance of Hindi as the only link language, they said that Hindi is the only language in the state that has served to keep all the communities in close harmony.
On 14th September 1949 Hindi was adopted as the Official Language of the Union of India. Later in 1950, the Constitution of India declared Hindi in the Devanagari script as the Official language of India. 14th September is now recognized as Rashtra Bhasha Diwas (Hindi Diwas) and is celebrated every year throughout the country.
