AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): With a major blow to the four months old BJP Govt of Tripura, High Court has issued a notice to the state govt for not allowing INPT to practice their democratic rights of agitation on June 28.
On Govt side, however the lawyer approached the Court saying the Law and Order situation was not appropriate here to allow INPT for the protest. High Court further asked state govt to give details about the law and order situation in the state on that time.
INPT filed a case against state govt after police didn’t permit them to stage protest in the Capital City Agartala on June 28.
INPT President Bijay Rankhol on that time said that there was absolutely no reason for not giving permission as the protest was about various demands from the state govt and the attitude of not allowing opposition to hold protest itself proves BJP-govt doesn’t believe in democracy.
However, INPT’s demand was NRC from 1951 and introduction of Inner Permit for ADC areas.
