AGARTALA, September 11 (TIWN): New suspense broke out involving the scam of Education Department / RMSA. Police had successfully seized the seven bank accounts of the absconded cashier, Arnab Chakraborty.. The amount stored in those accounts will be nearly 4 crores - says the Investigative Officer SDPO Sanjay Biswas.Speaking to TIWN Mr. Biswas informed that the 7 accounts of accused Cashier of Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan (RMSA) were seized by the police. Total near four crore rupees has been recovered. Still the Police hoped that the information of other accounts will soon be uncovered by Police. The State Bank of India and Tripura State Co-operative Bank had extended their helping hands towards the Police and Authorities.

However the police is searching other banks as to whether any bank accounts in the name of Arnab Chakraborty and his wife Sangeeta Chakraborty have been opened or not.

It is to be mentioned here that the absconded cashier Arnab Chakraborty is the resident of Reshambagan area. After the filing of FIR by Joint Director Manabendra Chakraborty, the West Police Station spent more time to contact with the Ranirbazar P.S. In the meantime the accused has successfully absconded. Now the question arises as to why the police have done such negligence? Though the distance between the two places is not more than 5km.

It is further to be mentioned here that Arnab Chakraborty was accused of making forgery signature of ASMD. The accused is also charged of issuing an appropriation letter demanding authority of receiving all
the cheques and payments from RMSA. The authority of Tripura State Co-operative Bank suspects of big scam and they contacted the Director. As a witness documents Bank officials produced a copy of bearer cheques in the name of Arnab Chakraborty bearing No.01756 against which Rs Eleven lakhs was drawn by him on 3rd September 2014.On behalf of the Education Department Manabendra Chakraborty mentioned in his FIR that “On preliminary enquiry of office records, it appears that the signature of the ASMD and the Deputy Director(DDO) are forged one which was made by him intentionally for the misappropriation of the Government money.”
