AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Congress’s student wing NSUI has filed a case against BJP National President Amit Shah at Agartala West PS alleging a scam of Rs. 750 crores during Demonetization.
This protest was a part of national level agitation and across 29 states of India, such cases were filed against Shah as according to Congress, demonetization looted the whole nation.
A protest rally was also kicked off from Congress Bhawan, raising slogans against Amit Shah led alleged scandal followed with the case filing against Amit Shah.
The National Congress called for a thorough investigation into post-demonetization deposits following revelations that a cooperative bank associated with BJP chief Amit Shah received Rs 745 crore in scrapped notes before these banks were barred from accepting them.
Tripura Congress activists, as a part of national level protests have staged the demonstration demanding investigation in the scandal to find out the transactions histories.
The Congress released the list of banks linked to BJP leaders that got the deposits, according to the May 7 RTI reply to queries filed by Manoranjan S. Roy, a Mumbai-based information activist.No other bank among the 370 district co-operative banks across the country had received such a big sum in five days.
