Tripura undergoing multiple Law & Order threats : 2 mass beaten in Udaipur Matabari in child trafficking allegation, 2 in Agartala

UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, June 27 (TIWN): Two persons were mass beaten at Matabari today in child trafficking case and handed over to police. Police have started interrogation led by SDPO Himadri Prasad Das after both of the accused were brought from medical test. The accused child traffickers have been identified as Rasaraj Debnath, resident of Hulakhet in Pabiamura (Udaipur), another is Suman Das, resident of Juali Khamar. According to police’s information, the two persons who were booked are now under police’s interrogation and details are being taken to probe their link in child trafficking. The incident held on Wednesday afternoon, when a family arrived at Matabari from South Tripura as a part of family function’s ritual. Two children named Ritabrata Lahari (6), Polumi Lahari (10) were called by those two men and taken to buy icecream for them, said the grandfather of the children Ratan Dey said. After a certain time, the family members started to search their children here and there. On that time, few people saw the children with those two men and the matter came under suspect.The situation soon developed in arguments with the accused Rasaraj Debnath and Juali Khamar followed by mass-beating.

In another separate incident, mob have beaten a man, handed over to police accusing him as a child-trafficker from Agartala Netaji school.  According to locals, the man entered in Netaji School to take children from that school.Seeing his movement unreasonable, the angry people came with heavy reaction and beat the accused child trafficker. Police is now investigating the case.

 Another woman was brought in West Agartala Police station by locals in child-trafficking allegations.
