AGARTALA, June 26 (TIWN): To commemorate International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking Assam Rifles took part in Motor Cycle rally and Road march organised by the State Government at Ravindra Bhawan, today along with Tripura Police and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF). Biplab Kumar Deb, CM of Tripura flagged off the rallies to spread awareness regarding the ill effects of consumption of drugs.
Assam Rifles has organised series of events across the State to achieve the goal of ‘Drug Free Tripura’ which included lecture and silent road march at Gournagar Khowai along with Mashal Darshani NGO and Junak NGO, Kumarghat which was attended by 250 children, youth and locals. Lectures were also organised at Office Tilla Community Hall, Bumkin Nagar, Mandai and Sabual, Kanchanpur, Belabari, Fatikroy Mokokchung Football club Teliamura which were attended by a total of 975 youth and locals. Participants also took oath to ‘Say No to Drugs’ and help in achiving ‘Drug Free Society’.
The initiative of Assam Rifles to bring awareness regarding drug abuse and ill effects for the well being of youth and families was appreciated by all.
