AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): Health Minister Sudip Barman on Monday has inaugurated the system of online counseling for admission in Medical Colleges. As per the policy directives, the Common Counseling Committee of DME-Tripura for Under Graduate (UG) Medical and Dental at RIMS, Imphal Agartala Govt Medical college, Tripura Medical College as well as the Colleges outside the state (as per availability) and is responsible for allotment of UG Medical seats. In other to bring about transparency and efficiency in the allotment process of UG seats henceforth online registration and allotment of seats shall be done using E-counseling Software product of National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Govt of India which is jointly customized by Directorate of Medical Education, Govt of Tripura, National Informatics Centre, Govt of India to provide online facility of Registration Document upload, choice filling, admission etc.

Provision is also kept for the “upgradation of seats” as per candidates choice and merit (in case of UG seats increased or surrendered by any candidate) to ensure transparency, efficiency, ease of doing allotment of doing UG seats as per the approved criteria.

Addressing the media, Health Minister Sudip Barman said, “This is an important step taken by Govt towards good governance to ensure transparency and efficiency in the allotment of UG seats in the medical courses”.

For convenience of aspirants UG candidates, online applications would be made from anywhere and anytime.

The E-counseling system for allotment and admission to various UG courses under DME, Dept of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Tripura has been launched by Tripura Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman in the presence of Samarjit Bhowmik, Secretary of Family and Health Welfare (Govt of Tripura), J K Dev Varma, Director of Family and Health Welfare (Govt of Tripura), Chinmoy Biswas, Director of Medical education (Govt of Tripura) at Secretariat.
