AGARTALA, September 9 (TIWN): A short meeting of the state cabinet was held at Agartala on Tuesday. The meeting reportedly failed to five any direction to the state government employees.In the face of further hike of Dearness Allowance (DA) for central government employees by 7 percent, the state cabinet meeting was expected to deliver on similar lines to bring parity among the state and central government employees.The state government was expected to raise grade pay for the state employees ahead of declaring commitments to the 14th Finance Commission. However, bitter with experience from the previous Finance Commission, the government is reportedly backing out from any chance of risks.The cabinet reportedly discussed a number of agendas including development of livelihood, adult literacy campaigns and reviewed the latest situation on endemic disease outbreak in the state including malaria, Japanese Encephalitis and dengue.The state government employees are currently getting 36% less DA in comparison to central government employees.
