Agartala, September 9 (TIWN): In a daring attempt, the Indigenous People’s Party of Twipra (IPFT) today issued a terse warning to the ruling CPI (M) and the state Tripura government over the Twipraland demand. It’s better that they keep their way out of us and cooperate us to develop the TTAADC in a full-fledged manner, IPFT president NC Debbarma said.

Addressing the media at the Agartala Press Club here this evening, IPFT president NC Debbarma said that every party had right to hold conventions and raise democratic demands. Any effort to stop IPFT from doing so would be attempts at impeding the spirit of the Constitution of India, he said.

Debbarma launched a scathing attack on the state’s ruling Left Front government and said, “It is not a good sign on the part of the government. Every party has right to hold conventions. We have organized a central rally on last August 23.Then why they are trying to compete with us by organizing convention?”

Later, NC Debbarma also alleged that the CPI (M) party and its frontal wings are spreading rumours to malign the IPFT.

“The CPI (M) party is trying to influence the people by spreading propaganda of a separate statehood.  We never sought for independent Tripura. We just want to upgrade the TTAADC in full fledged manner,” said Debbarma.

The party also criticized a recent statement of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar where he labeled the Indigenous People’s Party of Twipra as CIA agent. IPFT chief NC Debbarma and demanded the government to prove all allegations with verified documents.
