Delays hamper two Journalists murder investigation : After 3 months, CBI finally accepted Journalists murder cases

AGARTALA, June 22 (TIWN): In a BJP ruled Tripura State Govt and Central Govt, prompt actions are expected but pathetically it took over 3 months even to accept State Govt’s request for CBI investigation. In spite of CM BIplab Deb’s Friday Press Conference announcing acceptance by CBI of 2 Journalists murder investigations but doubt remains how far CBI can probe the brutal murders which had taken place before 9 months. It's already over 3 months passed after new Govt was formed led by Chief Minister Biplab Deb and finally it wasted a huge time convincing CBI to agree to accept the cases. UP CM Yogi Adityanath ordered CBI investigation on brutal Unnao Rape Case after State Police failure and CBI swooped into investigation from next day. Which means that if an experienced CM can put the proper pressure, CBI can start investigation within 24 hrs. Biplab Deb yet to learn from his counterparts across India on engaging important investigations.

Same goes with Rose Vally investigation - no clue and no action so far. So the question is why BIplab Deb’s request for CBI investigation still in its nascent stage, nowhere CBI team was seen why it took over 3 months ?

Murder of the young photo journalist Santanu Bhaumik took place on 2017, September 20  in a brutal attack during political clash between GMP and IPFT. The young journalist was associated with various electronic media who has been killed while covering IPFT and CPI-M clash at Mandai on that day.

The barbaric murder had taken place when after getting informed about an ongoing tension on that hilly zone, Santanu rushed to Mandai ADC area to cover the incident. But, while covering the event suddenly an attack was held upon him with sharp weapons (Da) and continuously the attackers were injuring him.

Just 31 days after Santanu’s murder, October 21, 2017 Tripura's another senior journalist Sudip Datta Bhaumik was killed by a Tripura State Rifles jawan. Tripura's newly formed BJP Govt has decided to handover both the journalists' murder cases to CBI.

Previous  CPI-M Govt on that time denied CBI investigation in both murder cases.

BJP Govt after coming in power announced CBI investigation but finally it took over 3 and half months for CBI to take the cases in hand. In the mean time, another journalist of North Tripura Suman Debnath was attacked, his throat was half slit but anyhow survived.  However, CM didn't condemn the attack held upon Suman Debnath on June 18 night by oil mafias.

Due to State Govt’s lack of seriousness in handling brutal attacks on Journalists, Oil mafia partially slit Journalist Suman’s throat at Dharmanagar which BJP Govt or Chief Minister yet to condemn, neither Tripura Govt bothered to order an investigation against multi-crore Oil Mafia empire based out in North Tripura.
