Traffic system is being tightened up for upcoming Durga Puja

AGARTALA, September 9 (TIWN): Traffic systems are beefed up for the upcoming biggest festival of Durga Puja. The system this year become more tightened due to the increasing numbr of vehicles. At the same time threat messages from Al-Queda also exist.

Speaking to TIWN, Superintendent of Traffic Smriti Ranjan Das said, during the puja time, traffic system starts functioning from Sasthi (sixth day before Puja). This year also the traffic department placed the same security arrangements. Though, the gathering starts from Panchami night. Speaking on this issue Mr. Das clarified that this year it won’t be possible for them as the advertisements was already published.

After the Government issued the order of the periphery of the SP Traffic, this is the first time he will be in control of the whole security system of the state. Besides these, on all districts additional S.Ps will act as an Ex-Officio. He also told that, there will be a total of three thousand additional Police and TSR personnels shall be deployed in the State in addition to maintaining the traffic system as well as the law and order movement.

Total Six Traffic Assistance Booths shall also deployed at Agartala to render assistance to the people. As per as security is concern, CCTV camera and watch towers will be set up at all sensitive and crowded areas. Recently traffic department held a meeting with the puja organizers/clubs to maintain discipline in the State.  Over-crowdedness should be avoided and vehicles should not be allowed in the no-entry zones without any permission/passes.

However in case of issuing No-entry pass, the procedure will be maintained strictly. Unnecessary permits should not be issued. The no-entry passes will be issued based on necessity.

SP Traffic Smriti Rn. Das informed that, every year 15 thousand applications had been received by the traffic department for issuing of Pass and near about 3000 pass was issued. This year also the Traffic department will maintain the same.

Besides these on the conference hall of Kamalpur .SDPO Uttam Banik, OC Debaprasad Roy, Kamalpur, Nagar Panchayat Chairman Khana Das, eminent social activist Anjan Das and Durga Chowmuhani Block Chairman Manabendra Deb along with other officials of subdivisional clubs and social organizations organized a meeting to achieving the aim of safe and sound atmosphere at the upcoming Durga Puja.

It is to be mentioned that after taken over the charge as Superintendent of Traffic today Mr. Smriti Ranjan Das faced some difficulties to gather information about the ongoing work of traffic. Still he is trying his best  to maintain the work with earnest efforts.
