AGARTALA, June 22 (TIWN): Assembly is expected to be heated up today as both opposition CPI-M and ruling BJP MLAs to exchange remarks on the recent budget placed by the BJP Govt for 2018-19 FY. A source said, CPI-M to raise issues like social pension increasing, which the BJP promised to give at 2000 per person. Apart from that CPI-M also to make issue of the tax hike in petrol diesel and clocking gas. "The budget discussion to be started with opposition leaders speech according to rule. So tomorrow on behalf of CPI-M, opposition leader Manik Sarkar to address first", a CPI-M MLA told TIWN.For today and June 25 the discussion will be taken place on the budget. On Wednesday, in the absence of Ex-CM Manik Sarkar CPI-M MLAs walked out of the Assembly alleging personal attacks were dome by ruling BJP upon Manik Sarkar. The discussions on Thursday mainly centered with train passenger rescuer Swapan Debbarma and to arrange job, President’s award for him.

The budget was placed on June 19 by Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma whereas Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has marked the budget as ‘historical’ with Zero-deficit. Jishnu Dev Varma on Tuesday presented a Rs 16,387.21 crore tax-free budget for financial year 2018-19.

Tabling the budget on the first day of the assembly session, Dev Varma, who holds the Finance portfolio, said that there is no deficit in the budget. He, however, proposed increase of sales tax on petrol by two per cent and on diesel and piped natural gas by one per cent each.

Interestingly, budget speech at state Assembly led blunder for ruling govt as Finance Minister Jishnu Debbarma has alleged ‘fund deprivation’ by Centre since two financial years.

During budget speech, Jishnu Debbarma said, in last financial year 1713 cores 73 lakhs rupees were not sanctioned by Central Govt. It was said by Jishnu Debbarma on Tuesday while placing budget in the Assembly. After the speech revealed the central deprivation, CPI-M made it an issues claiming heavy central led deprivation under BJP Govt during CPI-M era in Tripura.

However, today heavy arguments are expected from both ruling, opposition MLAs on the budget.
