Agartala, September 9 (TIWN): Election Duty Voters (EDV) today cast votes through postal ballot votes at the PB facilitation centre in the office of Returning Officer (RO), Sabroom.
A highly placed source in the office of the CEO today said that a total of forty-one election duty voters (EDV) cast votes at the postal ballot facilitation centre.
Sherring Angchuk, appointed as general observer by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to oversee the by-election at Manu assembly constituency and expenditure observer Gopesh Chandra Das monitored the postal ballot voting process on the day, an official statement from Returning Officer Rajib Dutta said later this evening.
A government statement today added that the final mock poll exercise was completed for the by-election at Manu assembly constituency. 255 poll personnel participated in the exercise, the statement said adding that election guidelines and regulations were taught through hands on experiments and video tutorials.
Thirty-eight micro-observers alongwith 10 percent reserve micro-observer force were trained today.
Six sector officers were appointed for the by-election process.
All 46 polling stations spread across 38 locations in the constituency are currently undergoing vulnerability assessment.
