AGARTALA, June 21 (TIWN): Ray of hopes now is visible as 3rd day of Tripura Assembly has talked for a long about Swapan Debbarma's future and livelihood, who rescued thousands of lives on May 15 by defending train passengers from a major accident. Today at first Minister Sudip Barman raised the issue in the Assembly in the presence of Swapan Debbarma himself. Swapan Debbarma was called by Minister Sudip Barman in the Assembly and keeping him in front, Sudip Barman told the Assembly to make decision to manage a President’s award for him. Following Sudip Barman’s claim, MLA Biswabandhu Sen said, “Since few interviews of Swapan Debbarma were flashed in TV channels, it has been observed that this poor man needs a job or livelihood to take care of his family".

"President’s award and money are very important and prestigious but all will be ended once the limelight upon him will no more exist, but if he gets a job he and his family can survive well till the rest of the life”, Sen added. 

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb told Assembly that soon he will talk to Railway Dept to arrange a job for him according to his eligibility. The President's award proposal placed by Minister Sudip Barman was passed by whole Assembly and now Govt will recommend Swapan Debbarma's name for President's award. 

Swapan Debbarma who has become a ‘super hero’ for Tripura and ideal of youths and children have been appreciated world-wide in last 6 days. Even Indian cricket star like Virender Sehwag has demanded an ‘award’ for him.

In a tweet Sehwag said, “Not all superheroes have a cape, some have a towel. Meet Swapan Debbarma who saved a train accident btwn Ambassa & Agartala.He spotted a derailed track & jumped onto d track,waved his towel,stopped the Train from an accident & saved thousands of lives. Such heroes must be rewarded”.

Tripura Minister Sudip Barman met Swapan Debbarma today morning before the Assembly who saved a train from major accident on May 15.

Sudip Barman also thanked Swapan Debbarma for saving passengers from deaths and also assured him about Govt’s full support with him.

Swapan Debbarma saved thousands of people from a major train accident today on May 15, when Tripura was undergoing heavy flood damages and landslide collapsed train lines.

Ambassa to Agartala Railway track was identified as damaged, Swapan Debbarma with big leaves and his clothes signaled the train to stop and in this way he saved thousands of people’s lives.

After that few young passengers posted Swapan Debbarma’s photo in social media which made him popular overnight for his good work and sharp brain.
