AGARTALA, June 21 (TIWN): Tribal Welfare Dept has helped Swapan Debbarma’s family with Rs. 50,000 who saved thousands of lives on May-15 by stopping a train before it met a major accident during flood and landslide period in state.
On Thursday, Tribal Welfare Dept has announced Rs. 50,000 for Swapan Debbarma.
On the other side, Tripura CM Biplab Deb has announced to hold talks with Railway Dept to arrange a govt job for Swapan Debbarma according to his eligibility.
Also, Minister Sudip Barman has suggested President’s award in honour of his bravery and sharp-brain.
Swapan Debbarma saved thousands of people from a major train accident today on May 15, when Tripura was undergoing heavy flood damages and landslide collapsed train lines.
Ambassa to Agartala Railway track was identified as damaged, Swapan Debbarma with big leaves and his clothes signaled the train to stop and in this way he saved thousands of people’s lives.
After that few young passengers posted Swapan Debbarma’s photo in social media which made him popular overnight for his good work and sharp brain.
