DHARMANAGAR (North Tripura), June 16 (TIWN): After 3 Nigerian nationals arrest, now Police caught drugs in North Tripura which is a drop in ocean of drung smuggling across Tripua & North eastern region to Bangladesh.Aiming to make a 'drug free society' Tripura Police have been continuing drive against narcotics. With a successful drive under Dharmanagar SDPO Dipankar Pal a brown-sugar business has been cracked down on Saturday along with two culprits were arrested by police. Dharmanagar police led by OC-Beni Madhab Dey under SDPO Dipankar Pal raided two separate spots and recovered 200 grams of brown sugar from East markert and Kadamtala. Two arrested persons are : 1) Ainul Hoq 2) Sanjib Sen. Ainul Hoq was arrested from East Bazar, whereas Sanjib Sen was arrested from Kadamtala own residence. 5 mobile phones and 1 bike were recovered with them.
Police said, such raids will be continued in coming days, urging public to inform police immediately about any anti-social activity if going around. Local people are happy with Dharmanagar police’s drive against druggists. Various kinds of drugs packed in various forms have been recovered with them.
Both of the arrested persons to be produced before the court on Monday.
Right now Dharmanagar police is interrogating them so that the whole chain marketing get exposed and the total racket can be unearthed.
Noteworthy, today while addressing at Police Headquarter, Chief Minister Biplab Deb today mentioned, unless and until Tripura becomes free from narcotics and safety of women can be assured 100 % till then this state can not be called a developed state. CM various times claimed, narcotics is connected with crime against women and one is related with another.
Dharmanagar and Sonamura like subidivisions have been known as the den for drug business. Whereas Dharmanagar under North Tripura connects state with other Northeastern states, Sonamura connects with Bangladesh.
