AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): For the first time, Tripura’s all police stations have been activated with toll free emergency number 100.
Chief Minister Biplab Deb on that occasion has slammed the previous CPI-M and Congress Govt for keeping that 100 toll free number inactivated for 30 years long.
CM announced that all police stations are now connected with 100 toll free numbers before he flagged off Police Mobile Van service to reduce the police’s arrival time.
Addressing media, CM said, “This number was existing since many decades, but Tripura’s previous govt couldn’t launch it properly but if they had good will, they could launch it”.
“Once again it proves if you have a good intention then you can do many things and Govt without Niti can’t be a govt for people”, CM added.
Chief Minister further said, “Our Govt’s first aim is to ensure women’s safety. Crime against women is high in Tripura, but now by dialing 100 they can take police’s help. If a woman is tortured or attacked by a group of people and somebody calls in that number for help, immediately police will reach”.
