CM visits Kailashahar relief camps, assures full Govt support to flood affected families

AGARTALA / KAILASHAHAR, June 15 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb has been visiting various relief camps in flood affected Unakoti District as a part of assuring support to the victims. CM has ordered officials to stay active and to assure confirm assistance to the flood affected people residing each corner of the Unakori District. CM said, his Kailashahar relief camp visit is to ensure that proper facilities are being provided to citizens. “I asked the officials to make sure that timely assistance reaches all the locations across the state”, CM said in a tweet. Tripura is directly getting Central Govt’s help with huge numbers of NDRF have been deployed in state. Many houses have been collapsed and rescue operations are under process. Three persons have died in past 3 days. Following cabinet meeting Tripura Govt had announced on yesterday, such a dangerous and deadly food state Tripura has not experienced in recent times.

One died at khowai and two at South Tripura, but with NDRF from various states have arrived to help Tripura flood affected people, the death toll has remained under control. 

State Cabinet has decided to give priority to the ‘rescue’ operation, ’relief’, ‘health’ and then to measure the ‘damage’.“First we need to save the people and then damage repairing issues will come.

Right now Manu river’s water flowing is 23.90 metre. Earlier the water level was much above than the danger level i.e. 24 metre, but after morning rains the situations again downed. 

 From Slichar, Ghaziabad and many other paces boats are coming and NDRF team from inside and outside the state have started the rescue operation.

For food and emergency times helicopter have been kept ready. Except Sepahijala District all Districts have been affected, but most affected District is Unakoti District where 90 relief camps have been set, 13609 families have taken shelter in relief camps and few are yet to be rescued in that District.

Following the deadly flood reports, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has reached there and visiting relief camps.
