AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): Following a clash with patient party, all the Doctors and Hospital staffs went on strike today for long 3 hours till Minister Pranajit Singha Roy had interfered.

The strike was called by the Doctors after a patient named Jolil Mia had died and deceased brother Kajal Mia punched a doctor name Sujit Sutradhar on his face.

Sujit Sutradhar immediately filed an FIR against Kajal Mia and police also started action. Kajal Mia is now in hide and police is searching for him.

But the eye-witnesses said that after the clash Kajol Mia said, he didn’t beat anybody but may be as his mental condition was not stable so the Doctor took it wrongly.

According to the allegation, since 3 days, Jolil Mia was in Gomati Hospital after he was referred from Amarpur Hospital, but Doctor Sujit didn’t check the patient even after telling the staffs many times.

Today when he was serious, then Doctor Sujit came and started treatment. During treatment, Jolil Mia died which led his family members angry.

Sujit Sutradhar not only filed an FIR but also went in strike with his colleagues. Three hours long strike had paralyzed the Hospital Service totally and from child ward to all wards suffered from lack of treatment.

At 3 PM Minister Pranajit Singha Roy rushed to spot and resumed the service. The Minister also warned the Doctors that they should never go in strike in coming days.

When Doctors tried to explain the issue, Pranajjit Singha Roy said, “Not at all. A doctor can not behave like a common men ! When police is doing their jobs and FIR has been lodged why other patients were suffered ? A mother is sitting with her child since 2 two hours without treatment ? I condemn this attitude of Doctors. Anymore repetition of such activity will not be tolerated”.

After Minister’s warning, the service was resumed at Gomati District Hospital.
