President Ram Nath Kovind left for Delhi after 2 days long visit in Tripura, assures development of Northeast

AGARTALA, June 8 (TIWN): President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Friday ending his two days long visit in Tripura with wife Savita Kovind has left for Delhi. Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Governor Tathagata Roy, all high govt officials were present at Agartala Airport to see off the President and the First lady of India. President Ram Nath Kovind in his two days long visit said, his visit would mark further development for Tripura assuring Govt of India will give top priority to Northeast regarding developmental issues. Via social media during his two-days long visit, Kovind said, "The development of Northeast India is a priority of the government". On Thursday evening while addressing at Rabindra Bhawan President said, “Since I am here in Tripura from Udaipur Matabari to each place I saw youths are so energetic. They have urge for doing something and I believe all have their missions. The Yuva-Shakti which is very important for a state’s development is in full power in Tripura, infact a ray-of-hope I observed on their faces today”.“I believe people of Tripura are ambitious and curious for the development of the state”, Kovind said.President also praised the Kings of Tripura, glorifying the history of the state.

“Tripura’s Kings were visionary and King Bir Bikram Manikya was one of the Kings who modernized the state and had a dream for a developed, advanced state for Tripura people”, he said.

Ram Nath Kovind also said, Tripura participated in Independence of Indian movement directly or indirectly and also praised the kings and the locals of Tripura for sheltering refugees who came in Tripura during tough times from East Pakistan.

"On that time people of Tripura set an example in front of the whole nation", said Kovind mentioning further about Albert Ekka’s dedication on Tripura’s soil.

President Ram Nath Kovind also met sports talents of Tripura and appreciated their attempts and achievements.

On Friday the President has distributed 20 LGP connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana at Tripura Governor House. Total 20 LPG connections were distributed through Ram Nath Kovind’s hand before leaving the state. 

On yesterday to welcome the President opposition leaders including Ex-CM Manik Sarkar were present at Rabindra Bhawan.
