UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): President of India Ram Nath Kovind who arrived in Tripura today morning in his maiden visit with First Lady of India Savita Kovind has unveiled the lane-expansion project for Tripura's National Highway. The project has been dedicated for Udaipur-Sabroom route, as double-lane construction at that route has been completed already. This is the first double-lane project that state Tripura has gotten after 70 years of independence. President of India Ram Nath Kovind has arrived at Agartala Airport at 10.15 am . From Agartala Airport Kovind directly left for Udaipur to inaugurate new projects at there. Governor Tathagata Roy, CM Biplab Deb, Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma and other Ministers were present at Udaipur lane-expansion project inauguration programme conducted at Rajarshi Town Hall. President began his speech with Tripura's two local languages saying "Nomoskar" (Bengali) & "Khulumkha" (Kokborok). While addressing Kovind has thanked the people of Tripura for this grand welcome.
Right now, Agartala-Sabroom route is shaped into two lanes. It was said that along with lane-expansion the govt also will focus to beautify the roadsides with greenery.
Recently, CM also talked with Central Govt about 6 National Highway projects, site plantation on road sides etc.
