AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): President of India Ram Nath Kovind has arrived at Agartala Airport at 10.15 am on Thursday, has received a grand welcome in his maiden visit here. Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Governor Tathagata Roy, DGP A K Shukla, state Ministers and all top Govt officials welcomed the President at Agartala Airport.
School Children in Tribal and Bengali attires jointly welcomed Ram Nath Kovind. From Agartala Airport Kovind directly left for Udaipur Matabari temple via helicopter to offer prayers and to inaugurate new projects at there. Today, President of India Ramnath Kovind will be addressing school students during his visit at Udaipur.
Foundation stone to be laid by the President for Tripura’s first ever lane expansion project.Along with lane-expansion project President also will unveil the Matabari developmental project at Udaipur. At Agartala also, the President will address at Rabindra Bhawan after completing his Udaipur visit.
Ram Nath Kovind is the 14th and current President of India, in office since 25 July 2017. Previously he had served as the Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 and was a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from 1994 to 2006.
