AGARTALA, June 6 (TIWN): Data exchanges sparking debates between BJP Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma vs. opposition CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury centering MGNREGA mandays issues. However, when Tripura CPI-M MP Jitendra Chaudhury claimed that almost no MGNREGA work was done under BJP Govt and as a result people are bound to go in Bangladesh in search of work, Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma announced, above 10 lakhs mandays were created under the BJP Govt. Hitting Jitendra Chowdhury further Jishnu Debbarma said, in the whole year under Left Govt only around 6 lakhs mandays were created in 2017-18 but in BJP Govt's few months around 10 lakh mandays were generated.

"Many people are concerned that villages don't have works and people are going to other countries due to joblessness but even though I am not bound to answer anybody but still it's needed to let the people know what BJP has done in 100 days".

Comparing the mandays with CPI-M era, Deputy CM said, under CPI-M Govt in 2017, up to 31st March the mandays was only 6.49 lakh but in compare with their time BJP Govt created over 10 lakhs mandays.

However, fund release was block from January-2018 and the total fund has been released from Centre as Rs. 173.68 crores after BJP came in power.

But Jishnu Debbarma didn't made it clear whether the mandays were created only under BJP era (From March 2018 to June) or comprising CPI-M and BJP era both. Not only this, whether wage has been hiked at Rs. 340 or not it was not mentioned by the Deputy CM after 3 months of the govt formation.
