AGARATALA, May 23 (TIWN): For the first time Venkaiah Naidu, as the Vice President of India has arrived in Tripura.
A grand welcome ceremony was conducted on Naidu's arrival at Agartala Airport. Chief Minister Biplab Deb, Governor Tathagata Roy, DGP A K Shukla, Minister Ratan Lal Nath, Tripura University Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh, Minister N C Debbarma, AMC Mayor Prafullajit Sinha and other high Govt officials remained present to welcome the Vice President of India.
Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu is the Vice-President of India, since 11 August 2017.
Naidu's visit in Tripura will grace the 11 convocation at Tripura University today 4 pm. He will chair the convocation progarmme as the Chief Guest.
From Airport, Naidu has left for Raj Bawan, the Governor House with Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy.
