AGARTALA, May 19 (TIWN): With a massive fire, power bridge at the Capital City Agartala was burnt into ashes today at GB-79 Tilla on Saturday.
This office was distributing power in the maximum areas of the city. With this incident larger portions of Agartala City are undergoing total shutdowns. There is no chance of the recovery of the system immediately.
The whole office has been burnt with all machines with 11 kb panel.
The machines had become old and were not replaced since 20 to 25 years.
However, for the hospitals there are standby systems. In emergency areas as Hospital, Secretariat the standby connections have put on service and rest areas will be recovered within one day, said a govt official.
This incident is leading powercuts at ILS area, Lichu Bagan, ITI area and many other areas of the capital city.
Minister Sudip Barman visited the spot and also checked the condition of GB hospital.
