AGARTALA, May 15 (TIWN): The border sealing works at Sonamura which was stopped in the last week by local villagers, after they were allegedly brainwashed by smugglers, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb today has visited Sonamura and held a crucial meeting with BSF, Revenue Dept officials and the Sepahijala District administration's top officials.
The Chief Minister has given strict order to seal the remaining 9 km unfenced border at Sonamura.
At the same time, CM assured "No Loss" to the residents on border areas.
The unfenced border at Sonmaura had remained as an unsolved problem under the Left Govt since decades and the same data of 9 km unfenced border have been repeated by the District Administration since 4-5 years.
Last year one BSF officer Dipak Mandal was killed by around 25 smugglers at Sonamura, but still the border fencing remained unfenced.
The Biplab Deb led BJP Govt has decided to seal the borders with Bangladesh totally and to start practices of export-import legally so that it would help the govt also by generating revenues.
"Border fencing makes relation with neighboring countries good, rather than bad", CM added.
