AGARTALA, May 15 (TIWN): A new separatist body named ‘Twipra Dophani Sikla Srwngnai Motha’ has called the Bengalis as “Overload-Burden†for Tripura, who came in India after 1949 from East Pakistan (Bangladesh), when Tripura joined with India led by Queen Kanchan Prabha Devi.
According to them, as the Bengalis came after 1949, when Tripura became a part of India, thus they can not be considered as "Tripura-people".
In this condition the separatists have asked the Govt of India to shift the Bengalis in other states.
“Govt of India can take the refugees to other states or whatever it wants, but they can’t continue their livings here. We want NRC should be launched in Tripura as soon as possible, which will counted since 1949, not 1971”, they said.
“If the Govt fails to do that then, we demand Tipraland for our existence”, they said.
