AGARTALA, May 14 (TIWN): BJP, IPFT pre-poll tie-up heading towards further turbulence as violent clashes continue across Tripura. Before the election, various BJP leaders from Himanta Biswa Sarma to Biplab Deb slammed the CPI-M leaders for their failures to become close to IPFT, claiming that IPFT leaders, supporters are angry due to the deprivation done to the tribals. The claims are now turning heavy upon the BJP Govt as the IPFT led attacks are hitting the BJP activists everyday in ADC and rural Tripura. But the BJP led state govt is totally silent as it has no option to oppose the IPFT. The entry of IPFT in the cabinet also remained unhelpful to the BJP govt to sort out such problems and as a result the main sufferer are none other than the common people.

BJP leader Pratima Bhowmik on May 9 said, there will not a single clash between BJP, IPFT from today but within 4 days of her challenge the both party activist have met in clash at Asharam Bari. The party relation and alliance have become merely a “Joke” to the public indeed.

On May 9, State BJP has once again had made its stand clear that BJP doesn’t believe in any land division and only development is BJP’s target. While addressing in a  press conference on various issues, BJP leader Pratima Bhowmik was asked by media regarding that particular matter. Reacting over the ongoing clashes among BJP and IPFT, Pratima Bhowmik said, “Whatever was held till yesterday, it will not be repeated once again. This was the last unwanted incident took place among BJP and the IPFT”.

The BJP leader said, “Our stand was very clear from the beginning. We were centered only with socio-economic development. This land division issue was not in our discussion before alliance and the separate land demand is a demand of the IPFT only. BJP has no link with that”.

But her claims have proven as wrong as they BJP-IPFT once again on yesterday met in heavy clash, disrupting the peace of the locals.

CPI-M MP Jiten Chowdhury recently in press conference condemned the ongoing clashes among BJP and IPFT saying in the power competition, the poor people are unable to get rural jobs. Addressing a press conference Jiten Chowdhury said, “When state is suffering from MGNREGA job-crisis, the power clashes among BJP and IPFT are halting all developmental works. We also condemn the IPFT led attack upon the BJP MLA. Such tensions should not exist when two parties are working together. The Govt may be new, which only crossed 2 months, but the symptoms are not good”.
