After 30 years of completion how a party office can be demolished without compensation and within 7 days ? Not only this, the party office today they bulldozed it was 40 years old”. “We are going to take legal action against the Govt. No more can be tolerated”, Roy told media. “Earlier after they bulldozed our offices, we requested them not to bulldoze anymore party offices before the hearings, but today in the early morning the Congress party offices were destroyed at Agartala. No law, no democracy are existing in Tripura anymore”, he added. Today morning two party offices were bulldozed which were very old and since 3 decades those offices are said as ‘Congress Bhawan’.

Birjit Sinha told TIWN today, Congress will go in protest against the drive and will also decide whether any legal action against the govt can be taken or not.

Sinha also mentioned, the Congress Office and the Municipality office at Math Chowmuhani belong to same plot alleging 'selectively Congress Bhawans are bulldozing by the BJP govt".

On Friday, Tripura Congress activists, leaders led by Congress President Birjit Sinha and Gopal Roy had blocked National Highway at the same spot in Agartala Kamarpukur area in Math Chowmuhani protesting against the bulldozing drive of the BJP led state govt against Congress party offices.

Earlier also various party offices of Congress which were built over govt lands were bulldozed by the Biplab Deb led BJP State Govt including CPI-M party offices. On May 7 and May 8 various party offices were bulldozed at Motor Stand and at GB area whereas more fresh notices were served and maximum of them were pasted on the door of the Congress Bhawans.

At Kamarpukur also the Govt has pasted a notice for eviction. Reacting over the notices, Congress have blocked the National Highway at the Math Chowmuhani calling the Chief Minister Biplab Deb a 'Barbaric Ruler'.

Congress President Birjit Sinha said, "All party offices on hills have been served with notices of bulldozing. This Kamarpukur located party office has also been noticed to be evicted. But each office including Municipality office also is built over Govt land here. Why only the Congress Bhawan has been targeted ? No meeting was also called for any discussion with us. Is this democracy ?"

Addressing media, Congress leader Gopal Roy said, "Hundreds of houses, shops are built over the govt lands, which are not being evicted. It clearly indicates that intentionally the Congress Bhawans have been targeted".
