24 men arrested at Agartala Railway Station are under NIA's radar in Terror link : NIA team arrives in Agartala

AGARTALA, May 12 (TIWN): Bangladesh bordered Northeast state Tripura is under NIA’s radar after 24 unknown Muslim men were arrested from Agartala Railway Station without any valid document with them on Thursday. 24 men, who claimed themselves as Bangladeshis were booked from Agartala Railway Station on Thursday by MPF, are now under interrogation of National Investigation Agency (NIA). A two members of NIA officials from Guwahati arrived today at Agartala and grilled all the 24 youths, who were arrested by MPF. MPF Officer A. Choudhury said, “According to instruction given across the country to MPF offices, we are trying to find out whether anybody is roaming without valid documents in India. As a part of that drive MPF had raided various spots of the state and the 24 persons were held by our
team from Agartala Railway Station.

All the 24 people who have been booked are between 20 to 25 years. From them moneys, telephones, Madrassa-ID card, illegal Adhaar cards have been recovered”. 

All of the booked people who were arrested on Thursday said that they were going to Bangladesh via Tripura and just had arrived in Agartala via Railway from Uttar Pradesh. At the primary investigation on Thursday, the arrested persons said, before 3 years they came in India to study in a Madrassa. 

 On Thursday at the MPF office the arrested Muslim youths told Tripura media that before three years they had valid documents, Visa, passport but now the validity of their documents have been ended.

So, they were suggested by Uttar Pradesh friends that via Tripura it's very easy to cross the border without papers.

During such an attempt, when they reached Agartala Railway station, were arrested by MPF. No proper documents were recovered from the arrested youths and also they were asked in what kind of school they were given training at UP. As no similarity in their answers were found, the NIA have arrived to investigate the case further.

 National Investigation Agency is a central agency established by the Indian Government to combat terror in India. It acts as the Central Counter Terrorism Law Enforcement Agency.
