AGARTALA, September 4 (TIWN): Landslides in Longtarai Valley disrupted rail link in Tripura. The traffic is completely disrupted and has less chance to improve till evening- says Station master. Tough time of passengers who got stuck in the middle of nowhere. There was a long queue of the passengers in the reservation counters to get the refund.
According to the railway sources it is informed that today early morning landslides occured in the Longtarai valley. As a result the track got blocked. Trains could not start to their esteemed station till now. Three trains namely Agartala- Dharmanagar, Agartala-Lumding and Silchar-Agartala had been halt at Ambassa, Manu and Karimganj Station and faces difficulty to reach the destination.
As informed by the Station Master situation may likely to improve at near about 6 pm in the evening. Thousands of passengers waited at the railway station while no assurance has being given by the railway authority to resume service.
The bus service providers raised their fare. The passengers having no other alternatives had to accept their terms. Few days ago landslide occured at the Longtarai valley which disrupts the communication. From 1st October the railway service is going to be stopped for 6 months which is a big challenge for the commuters. But before that this kind of interruption held the daily life of passengers in to unknown path.
