AGARTALA, May 3 (TIWN): Tripura Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma today during an Art Gallery visit at Agartala City Centre said, “It's very sad that even after having much talents, the Artists till day do not have proper work-opportunity to sustain their livelihoodsâ€.
“Even though Art Colleges are there and artists are respected but they can’t earn properly till day”, he said.
“In Tripura even there is no Art Gallery yet created for our Artists. Such temporary Art galleries can’t fulfill the vision and demand of the Artists. Our artists deserve more”, the Deputy CM said.
“Nowadays, to promote art one needs money and the people who don't have money can’t become artists so easily, whereas Artists are highly valued in foreign countries like France”, he added.
The Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted Tripura's Kings led arts practices adding that 'Art has been a part of Tripura since ancient times'.
