AGARTALA, May 3 (TIWN): Manipuri students organizations here in Tripura raised voice to introduce their mother tongue in 22 selected govt schools here by appointing Manipuri language teachers.
A rally was conducted at Agartala where the students raised voice for the recognition of their language in Tripura schools.
According to them, although in 1998, the language was granted in Tripura schools, but not a single Manipuri teacher has been recruited here, which resulted in poor language skill among Manipuri boys and girls.
The protest was held by Tripura Manipuri Chatra Yuva Samannyoy Committee on Thursday.
