AGARTALA, May 3 (TIWN): 78 illegally constructed buildings including party offices will be demolished in the state by the BJP Govt here in Tripura, but the list yet to be announced. In CPI-M era, the opposition parties alleged that many CPI-M party offices were constructed over illegal lands. However, asking the Party Secretary Bijan Dhar regarding the matter, he said, ‘‘We will be silent till the list is out and after the list out if our party offices' names are found there, then only we will look into the matterâ€. The party Secretary has also mentioned, no notice was served to any CPI-M party office till now. “Once the notice comes, the we will take necessary actions if neededâ€, he added.On April 1, Govt ordered to recover illegally occupied govt lands by political parties within a week. With a bold move the state government has ordered political parties to release all the illegally occupied lands by their party offices.
In a press conference, the then West DM Millind Ramteke had asked all the political parties to leave party offices built over govt lands under the West Dist or the administration has to take action.
Noteworthy, in the last 25 years under the left regime various party offices were allegedly built on the govt lands. Few were developed into tall buildings.
However, the BJP govt has ordered all political parties to release all such illegally occupied govt lands.
