AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): When state Tripura is suffering from frequent power disruptions and long power cuts, Union Minister for Power and Renewable energy , R.K.Singh has asked Tripura Govt to make sure, there should be no power disruption once the connectivity is reached each house. “People should know Tripura for this particular reason that there is a state which has provided quality with excellent works done by power corporation. Power disruption should be due to particular reason, but facilitating the state with day-night power connectivity needs to be ensured”, the Minister said. “If there are 365 days in a day, divide the days to complete targets within that time. In some states power dept officials have reached deep rural areas within 4 to 5 days of hard work”, he said. The Minister also cited J&K, Uttarakhand like states' examples where power reached each place amid hard geographical conditions. Union Minister for Power and Renewable energy , R.K.Singh had arrived in Tripura on Wednesday and inaugurated Saubhagya Scheme at the Pragna Bhawan.

“Our approach will not to keep any place uncover, but to cover up all areas within the shortest period of time. State and Centre work cooperatively always and if the vision is clear then nobody can stop the projects to be fulfilled, but once the connectivity is given, there should be no halting in the power accessibility”, the Minister added.

Tripura Deputy Chief Minister said, “In Tripura we are doing a great good job. I spoke to the Central Minister and he has assured us, whatever help we will need he will help us. Now all we have to do is fulfill the target. Already we have expanded 15,700 connectivity to households. It may be a small number in compare to other states but if you look at the ratio, Tripura’s progress is lot in power connectivity".

The Saubhagya Scheme is an Indian government project to provide electricity to all households. The project was announced in September 2017 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which has been launched today.
