AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): Tripura Politicians are nowadays much upset with media functioning for which they termed as 'negative publicity'. Whereas Chief Minister Biplab Deb warned his critics to ‘chop off nails’, Tripura CPI-M Ex-Chief Minister Manik Sarkar while addressing on May Day at Agartala said, “Truths and undemocratic movement of the BJP Govt are not being published in our state's newspapers”. Manik Sarkar was addressing on May Day at Agartala and he said, “There are many newspapers in Agartala and also media houses, but the truth is not shown anywhere. Media, the 4th pillar of democracy is failed to function in that manner, which it should be”. Sarkar was mentioning about the 4 judge led accusation against Supreme Court and parliament’s no-confidence motion by opposition and alleged Tripura media are not functioning properly by not publishing things in which manner it should be.

Such ‘teachings’ to media has been continued by the present Chief Minister Biplab Deb too. Instead of accepting his utterances ruined BJP’s image, Biplab Deb warned to chop off nails if they say against his govt.

After the ‘paan-shop’ and ‘cow-breeding’ stories, now Tripura Chief Minister is leading the headline with his warning against critics after he said he will chop off nails of them, who will try to interfere in his govt. However, immediately, CM tried to made a point by adding ‘My Govt is 37 lakhs population of Tripura’, which however didn’t make any sense as the CM had already expressed his anger against critics and advisers. With the Hindi concept of ‘Nach Na Jane , toh Angan Tera’, Tripura CM instead of doing apology for his remarks since Mahabharata’s time, has been continued to hit the critics.

In this way politicians are expressing their own frustration seeing the increasing power of media in India which is turning heavy upon their image.
