AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): A thief was mass beaten at Battala today after he was caught by public when he attempted to snatch a necklace from a kid.

The thief had tried to take the necklace from her neck but failed as the father of the girl caught his hand.

Then the thief fell on the ground and tried to escape but failed.

On that time, chaos had hit the Battala area and the thieve was attacked by public, beaten massively. AD Nagar police rushed to the spot and arrested him.

One eye witness said, “Suddenly I saw the chaos and ran to the see the matter. The thief was caught by the girl’s father and public took immediate action with mass-beating". 

Nobody was injured in the incident except the thief. The place Battala in Agartala is however famous for such incidents.
