AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): A rainy week has kicked off in Tripura and 5 more Northeastern states.

The 6 states hit by pre-monsoon are : Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura. On Monday, the normal lives were heavily disrupted following the incessant rains since the morning.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Itanagar recorded 4 mm of rain, Shillong 3.7 mm, Aizwal 9 mm, Lengpui 9.4 mm, Dimapur 6.6 mm, Kailashahar 3.0 mm, Goalpara 12 mm, Guwahati 2.4 mm, North Lakhimpur 2.2 mm, Silchar 4.6 mm, Tinsukia 32 mm.

These rainfall activities have been attributed to a trough which is extending up to the Manipur region. Along with which, moist winds from the Bay of Bengal have been feeding moisture over Northeast India which has resulted in good rains over the entire state.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura and Mizoram are expected to witness rains of varied intensity throughout the coming week.

However, it was said already that Tripura and other Northeastern states will experience a heavy pre-monsoon this year.
