AGARTALA, April 28 (TIWN): After a year Tripura’s Ex Finance Minister Bhanu Lal Saha told the Assembly that Rose Valley had looted Rs. 35,0000 crores from Tripura, Badal Choudhury who was Finance Minister before Bhanu Lal Saha said that the scam can’t be of Rs. 35,000 crores.
“I was the finance minister before him but I do not have any such information that Rose Valley looted that much of amount”, Choudhury said.
However, the exact amount Choudhury couldn’t say but mentioned it’s not possible for a chit fund company to loot that amount from a small state like Tripura.
Bhanu Lal Saha in the last year's Assembly said, the Rose Valley company had looted Rs. 35,000 crores from Tripura. After that many rallies, protests were done as from a small state like Tripura under the left govt such a big amount was looted.
In news feeds also this data was used, even though the figure of the amount was abnormal.
Badal Choudhury was addressing media on Friday after CBI had interrogated him in Rose Valley chit fund scam on Thursday and clarified, the Rose Valley scam was not of Rs. 35,000 crores.
