Agartala, September 3 (TIWN): The MLA’s of Tripura Legislative Assembly drawing least wages in comparison with the other States of India.

Presently they withdraw Rs 17,500 which is not sufficient in the present days of high price of essential commodities.”- says opposition MLA Birajit Sinha.
In the concluding day of State Legislative Assembly Mr. Sinha raised the subject. Presenting the recent scenario of some of the Northeast States He told that the MLA’s of Assam withdraw Rs 80,00/-, Nagaland- 74,000, Mizoram-65,000/-. In Meghalaya MLA’s get only 5,000 but adding other allowances they get 1lakh 31 thousand.

While MLA’s of Tripura received only Rs 17,500 which is less in India as demanded by the MLA. Further elaborating the topic Mr.Sinha states that it is impossible to meet the basic needs with this limited amount. But it is a matter of shameness to ask for own’s wage by self.
In reply Chief Minister Manik Sarkar also agreed with opposition MLA. Mr.Sarkar told that it is an instance in whole India. The MLA’s of Tripura suffered and requested the Finance Minister to look after the matter. At the same time he also assures that the amount should not be alike as the MLA’s of other North-East States.
It is to be mentioned the Chief Minister is currently withdrawing Rs 18750, Speaker-Rs18450, Leader of Opposition- 18450, Member-17250 respectively.
