AGARTALA, April 14 (TIWN):Tripura Congress has celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti on Saturday at the Congress Bhawan at Agartala.

Congress President Birjit Sinha and other Congress leaders paid floral tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar.

Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti is an annual festival observed on 14 April to commemorate the memory of B. R. Ambedkar. It marks Ambedkar's birthday in 1891 and since 2015 is an official public holiday throughout India.

At Agartala School students, teachers led a colouful march in the morning in honour of Ambedkar. From state govt's side also a huge programme has been organized to mark the birth anniversary of Ambedkar.
