AGARTALA, April 12 (TIWN): After the state committee meeting led by Prakash Karat held for last two days, CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar in a press conference accepted, “Under the Left Govt political narrowness had gripped local social bodies and corruptions reached roots of some organizations, which couldn’t be controlled even after much attempts”. However Bijan Dhar also said, “We tried to control corruptions, but there were some lack of organizational strength”. Now question raises, if CPI-M attempted to control corruptions, why the party is still displaying tainted leaders as Gautam Das, Manik Dey in the front rows ?? Whereas by Rose Valley scams, Gautam Das killed the party image for a long-run, Manik Dey like Ex-Ministers were the root of youths’ resentments. Manik Dey reacted furiously when media published how an unemployed youth had beaten him who was promised to give a job in exchange of cashes.

Instead of accepting flaws in those leaders' character, Melarmath tried to hide such corruptions on that time which, however badly affected the Communists vote banks in 2018 and also affected CPI-M's movements nationally.

In the presence of Prakash Karat, the state committee had announced about the loss CPI-M received nationally due to Tripura CPI-M’s election defeat. But till day even though corruption was exposed, there is no attempt to remove Manik Dey, Gautam Das like figures, even though Bijan Dhar said, ‘Ground-level inquiry to be done’.

TIWN time to time publicized, how job-lollypops of CPI-M affected the minds of youths towards a negative direction. More than unemployment issue in actual, the political beneficiary system across depts. fueled the anger among the unemployed youths. According to Manik Sarkar, “Unemployment is a National problem”….but the grudge of youths against CPI-M was not due to the numbers of unemployed youths but the deprivation and corruption in the recruitment either it’s agriculture dept of RD, Panchayat.

In 2016, month of February, in a shocking development, one unemployed youth named Samir Debnath sneaked into the CPI-M State headquarter at Melarmath around 8.30pm on Sunday night and assaulted Transport Minister ManikDey with a chair over the alleged dispute of pending business transaction of Rs 4 lakhs cash dealings. However, a Melarmath source told TIWN that this was nothing but a deal about job as Samir Debnath’s mother was also a Panchayat member, but as Dey was delaying to provide any job so he was beaten by Samir on that evening.

Later CPI-M mentioned him as ‘mentally unstable’ to avoid the issue further and there was not so far police action against him.

Samir Debnath belonged to an influential CPI-M family from Ranirbazar area of Agartala. According to eyewitnesses, Samir Debnath came to meet Transport Minister ManikDey on that evening and demanded Rs 4 Lakhs rupees which allegedly owned by Minister ManikmDey as part of ‘business transactions’ between them. Samir Debnath shouting asked ManikDey to pay the Rs 4 Lakhs money on the spot as his father is critically ill and admitted into a private hospital.Manik Dey denied to talk to him and thus Samir Debnath lifted a chair and hit Manik Dey, Minister Badal Chowdhury jumped to save his colleague and injured his hand.

On yesterday after the state committee meeting was ended, Bijan Dhar said, "In few places complaints of corruption time to time used to come. It's not that we didn't try to stop those things but there were flaws in organizational strength in the party. We will identify such facts and causes".
